Multi Factor Authentication
Enhanced security protection Online - Login procedures are changing for your added security and confidence. Due to increased phishing scams and identity theft, our federal government is requiring all financial institutions add extra security features to Internet banking programs. Enrollment in this new security protection called "multifactor authentication" is voluntary now; mandatory on December 1.
How Does it Work? All you have to do is create a personal security image and five security questions to complete the registration process. You will see a change in the way you log-on to online banking.
To Get Started:
Go to the sign-on page or Click here
- Click “MFA enrollment”
- Type your account number, enter your password using the on-screen keyboard, and type the security code you see.
Set up your five security questions and answers
- Enter a personal security (text) image
- Click “submit”
After registration is complete, you may proceed with your transactions. At your next log in, you have an option to login through Multi Factor Authentication or the regular way which will no longer be active as of December 2006. If you choose to login through MFA you will be asked one of your five security questions and you will see your personal security image. To simplify this process, you may choose to register your computer. Registering you computer allows us to know that you are accessing Online Banking from a computer that the system recognizes.
The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) recently issued guidelines that direct financial institutions to improve their online banking systems by adding Multi Factor Authentication by the end of 2006. For the protection of your identity and the security of your personal financial information to us, users will be required to register for the new enhanced online security.
